The Dengue Virus was becoming a serious issue in Sri Lanka and Keble saw the importance of a concerted effort to prevent the disease.

Our Dengue program was inniciated to educate our children of the dangers of living in an unhygenic environment and of the ways to prevent the dengue mosquito from breeding. Children at Keble participated in an art competition themed Dengue Prevention and was judged by the community PHIs (Public Health Inspectors). The winner was given a Laptop computer. However the real winner was our local community, which saw a drastic drop in the dengue cases. The teachers at Keble alongside the community PHIs and the Police conducted house inspections on volunteer basis to ensure that our community is safe.
